Why You’ll Love this Chicken Caesar Wrap
Better yet, what’s NOT to love about a chicken Caesar wrap?!
Chunks of Parmesan-crusted chicken, crisp romaine, crunchy croutons, and plenty of Miso-Caesar Dressing bundled in a flour tortilla, it will breathe new life into weekday lunches.
I have been on a hunt for an amazing chicken Caesar wrap from local lunch spots, and just haven’t found one to be super impressive.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a recipe using the Miso-Caesar Dressing from my reader-favorite Roasted Broccoli Salad.
And let me tell you, that extra hit of umami from miso paste takes the classic Chicken Caesar Wrap to epic new heights.
This is a lunch you will absolutely look forward to. Plus, it will save you money (and potential disappointment) from ordering one at a local fast-food or fast-casual chain.

The Ingredients
- Chicken: You need boneless, skinless chicken breasts, which should be butterflied into thin cutlets.
- Parmesan: Grated Parmesan cheese both coats the chicken and is added to the salad mixture. Coating the chicken in Parmesan creates a crispy, salty, downright delicious crust, and it’s a little lighter than a full-on breading.
- Spices: For seasoning the chicken, I suggest Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mayo: I prefer using avocado oil mayo, such as Chosen Foods brand, for extra heart-healthy fats. Alternatively, you can use plain full-fat Greek yogurt.
- Miso Paste: A fermented soybean paste and secret weapon for adding worlds of savory depth. Look for either white or sweet miso paste, which aren’t quite as intense as the darker varieties.
- Lemon Juice: For brightness and acidity.
- Oil: It’s best to use a neutral oil, such as avocado oil or grapeseed oil.
- Garlic: You need 1 small garlic clove, which you can mince or grate.
- Worcestershire: Adds irresistible umami flavor and complexity to the dressing. Alternatively, you can use lower-sodium tamari.
- Lettuce: Crisp romaine adds quintessential freshness and crunch.
- Wraps: Look for large flour tortillas, which may be labeled as “burrito” sized tortillas. You can use a gluten free wrap, such as almond flour, however they tend to be more fragile and easy to rip. Just take caution when filling and rolling.

Shopping Tip
Look for miso paste in the Asian food section (near the tofu and fermented veggies) at your local grocery store. It may also be labeled as soybean paste.
The Directions
Step 1: Prepare Chicken
Carefully slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to form two thin cutlets.
Add Parmesan, spices, salt, and pepper to a small bowl; toss to combine. Spread seasoning mixture over chicken, pressing to adhere.
Step 2: Cook Chicken
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange chicken in pan and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, carefully flipping halfway through, until the chicken registers 165ºF. (Cooking time will vary depending on thickness of cutlets.)
Transfer to a cutting board and let sit while you prepare remainder of recipe.
Step 3: Prepare Miso-Caesar Dressing by combining all dressing ingredients (except oil) in a medium bowl. Gradually stream in oil while whisking constantly until the dressing is smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Combine Salad Ingredients
Cut chicken into small pieces and add to a large mixing bowl along with romaine, croutons, Parmesan, and dressing; toss well to combine.
Step 5: Assemble Chicken Caesar Wraps
Warm a large flour tortilla for about 20 seconds in the microwave or over a burner, just until pliable. Lay it on your work surface and add ~2 cups of salad mixture leaving a two-inch border all the way around.
Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla over the filling. Fold in the sides, then roll up, squeezing the tortilla so that the roll is compact. Slice in half and enjoy!
Recipe Variations
- Make it Spicy. Turn up the heat by adding a drizzle of chili crisp to your Miso-Caesar Dressing. Alternatively, add chopped pickled jalapeños to the salad mixture.
- Add Bacon. For extra richness and crunch, add 3 slices of cooked, finely chopped bacon to the salad mixture.
- Use Crispy Chicken. Feel free to use a more traditional breading for the chicken rather than the simple Parmesan crust. You can either air-fry, bake, or pan-fry the chicken cutlets.
- Add Sun-Dried Tomatoes. While it may seem like an usual ingredient, I love the brightness and burst of umami that sun-dried tomatoes add to chicken Caesar wraps.
- Use a Different Protein. In place of the chicken, crispy chickpeas or blackened salmon are also delicious in Caesar wraps! (I suggest using the recipe from these Blackened Salmon Bowls for the fish.)
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Use a Sturdy Wrap. To prevent tearing, use a sturdy, burrito-sized flour tortilla. And to help make it more pliable, microwave it for 20 seconds (or until warm) before filling and rolling.
- Wrap in Parchment. Wrapping your wrap in parchment paper (or aluminum foil) will help hold its shape and keep moisture out.
- Enjoy within 24 hours. While these chicken Caesar wraps are fabulous for meal prep, they are best if consumed within 24 hours. After 1 day, the lettuce will start to soften and the wraps may go soggy.
Serving Suggestions
While these wraps are plenty filling on their own, I also love pairing them with a soup or side of roasted veggies. Here are a few suggestions:
- Tomato Soup. For a classic lunch pairing, enjoy the wraps alongside my Tomato and Red Pepper Soup or Tomato Basil Soup.
- Lentil Soup. For an extra layer of cozy this time of year, try my amazing Lentil Soup Recipe.
- Roasted Veggies. My reader-favorite Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower pairs well with just about anything. Alternatively, you can’t go wrong with Harissa Roasted Cauliflower.

Simply perfect THANK YOU
Delicious! The dressing is awesome.
This was so incredibly delicious and so incredibly easy. Even my 2-year-old enjoyed this one—he loved dipping his chicken in the Caesar dressing.
Delicious! I would want a video or pictures of how you rolled them – I couldn’t find burrito sized so I used flour tortillas and they did not roll very well so one side is open but still really good!
WOW this was so good! I wasn’t very interested in this recipe at first, but my husband wanted to try it. After my first bite, I realized how wrong I was and how much I would have been missing out if I hadn’t given it a chance! Jamie’s recipes absolutely never miss!
Loved these!! Even better than the wrap I normally get at our local sandwich shop. We will make again!
How to make sure the Parmesan doesnt burn
keep the heat over medium and make sure the chicken is sliced thin!
Delicious, and a hit with the whole family.
This recipe was absolutely delicious and incredibly easy to make! My dressing turned out slightly watery, likely because I added a bit too much lemon, but it was still fantastic. To keep the wraps fresh, I stored the dressing and chicken separately, allowing me to assemble them throughout the week without worrying about sogginess. Your recipes are truly the best!!!
