Welcome to Super Bowl 50 week!!Whoa! Are you guys excited? I know I am. But not for the game (who is playing again?), but for all of the delicious food! And the half time show. And perhaps a margarita. Extra spicy please.
These are some of my favorite healthy recipes to entertain with, especially during football season. Of course events like the Super Bowl are going to include plenty of indulgences, but adding at least one healthy appetizer, main entree and/or dessert can make all the difference. The best part about these recipes is that the blind eye would never know how nutritious they are. They are incredibly flavorful, delicious and satisfying.
So let’s prepare a winning spread, shall we?!
What IS football without nachos?
Saying this salsa is simple is an understatement. All you need is a can opener, a cutting board and a knife. Perfect to make the morning of and then not have to mess with the rest of the day.
Only 4 ingredients! This is one of my go-to recipes for appetizers. It’s super quick and simple to throw together, yet packed with flavor and healthy ingredients.
Blue Cheese Stuffed Mini Turkey Meatballs
Toss them in buffalo sauce and you can thank me later.
A total fiesta in your mouth and it’s all made in ONE pot! Less dishes = more time enjoying your company (and your snacks).
Slow cooker chili’s are SO ideal for company. Simply set a stack of bowls next to the slow cooker with some ramekins filled with toppings, and just let your guests have at it.
After letting those delicious flavors marry for 6+ hours, you may also want to provide a stack of bibs too, because this chili = GAME TIME.
If you REALLY love your friends to the moon and back and want to give them an edible hug, you will make this. Please invite me over.
Mac and cheese is probably the biggest crowd pleaser I know of. I actually can’t think of anyone I know that DISLIKES mac and cheese. Even the pickiest eaters can get down with a bowl of mac. I seriously go nutso over this one!
Especially if you’re making burgers and/or hot dogs. This is their match made in heaveeennn.
Because you gotta have a little something sweet! These are quick to make and always a crowd pleaser.
…Especially if your preferred team is losing, you’re going to need a little something to take the edge off.
That’s a wrap!
I’d love to hear what your favorite game day creations are! Please share and let’s drool in anticipation together!
Go team! (lolol)
